Becoming a Lion

Join an international network of volunteers and friends

Right now, Lions are improving communities around the world. We’re meeting on the first and third Thursday each month on a regular basis to plan and sponsor local projects and that effort can and will be improved with your consideration of membership in the Spring Lake Lions Club.

We do sponsor international exchanges for young people through the International and State organizations for Lions, including bringing people clean drinking water in remote villages.

We are building. We are sharing. We are repairing.

And we do it with pleasure because being connected goes beyond ourselves and reaches remote areas around the globe. You see, things happen when people with a common desire to help do what the Spring Lake Lions Club does when it carries out the motto of "Together We Serve."

Lion Clubs can be found everywhere individuals want to meet and participate in group efforts at community improvement. There are even cyber clubs that meet online. Each club tries to match the needs of a member and their desire to serve by involvement with community programs that actually do support an expressed need or event in the community. And this club does it all year long.

The Spring Lake Lions Club is open to anyone age twenty-one (21) and above. For those under twenty-one (21) we'd love your help developing a local Leo Club. All that is required is that you have a desire to meet, network, and socialize with some great people in our community and help us serve those less fortunate by participating in your choice of the Programs and Services, many of which are listed here.

So why not consider joining?

Good question but start with being a part of something much larger than yourself. Then having considered both your needs and that of our community consider joining as a member so you can get plugged in. Some of the things you can plug into are listed in our Programs and Services section of this website. Don't let an interest discourage you however because we want our members to be creative and involved and initiating a new service is definitely encouraged.

You will note that we have developed a Team approach to making things happen and to support some of these events. Each of our Members and our Club Leaders are members of a team. Teams also have direct input to our Executive Board. If you want to be involved in something the following is just a small example of what that membership will do:

Help your community and gain valuable skills

Make an impact on people’s lives both locally and internationally

Learn to be a Leader as part of a respected organization

Network with others in the community and around the world

Energize your life and have fun doing it.

Enjoy the companionship of others who feel just as you do about reaching out to make this a better place

Feel the sense of worth and appreciation for your volunteerism

Becoming a Member

Membership in Lions Club is by invitation only.

Even if Spring Lake Lions Club and their meeting place may require some travel, being part of our Club can be used to advance the development of a new Club with this club providing assistance until there are enough like minded individuals to make a new club successful.

Applications can be made through either the Lions Club International or Lions Club of Michigan sites or District
